Job Description:

We are a U.S.-based hair care brand looking for a hands-on Director of E-Commerce to own and scale our Shopify (DTC) business.

This role is focused on conversion, digital marketing, storytelling, and revenue growth. You will work directly with the CEO and be responsible for turning traffic into customers and customers into repeat buyers.

Key Responsibilities

Shopify Conversion & Experience

  1. Own homepage, PDPs, and landing pages
  2. Improve conversion rate through UX, messaging, and design
  3. Build high-converting product pages with clear problem solution positioning
  4. Continuously test layouts, copy, and creative

Digital Marketing & Funnels

  1. Manage and improve performance across Meta, Google, email, and SMS
  2. Align ad creatives with landing page experience
  3. Improve funnel efficiency and reduce CAC
  4. Scale winning campaigns and creatives

Storytelling & Creative Direction

  1. Translate product benefits into clear customer outcomes
  2. Guide creative direction for product pages and campaigns
  3. Ensure brand feels premium, clean, and results-driven
  4. Work closely with creative team on visuals and messaging

AOV & Offer Strategy

  1. Build bundles, kits, and upsell systems
  2. Improve merchandising across the site
  3. Launch offers that increase order value
  4. Optimize subscription and retention flows

Retention & Lifecycle

  1. Own email and SMS strategy (flows and campaigns)
  2. Improve repeat purchase rate and customer lifetime value
  3. Build loyalty and subscription programs

Data & Testing

  1. Track key metrics: conversion rate, AOV, LTV, CAC
  2. Run ongoing A/B tests across PDPs, creatives, and offers
  3. Use data to drive decisions and iterate quickly

Requirements

  1. 4–6+ years in Shopify-focused D2C e-commerce
  2. Proven experience scaling a startup brand to 7-figure revenue (required)
  3. Hair care / beauty category experience (strongly preferred, ideally required)
  4. Strong understanding of conversion optimization and funnels
  5. Experience with Meta ads and email/SMS platforms (Klaviyo preferred)
  6. Strong creative judgment and storytelling ability
  7. Hands-on, execution-focused mindset

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
