We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Director, Membership to directly engage with credit unions, serving as their liaison to America’s Credit Unions, ensuring that our organization is understanding credit unions’ needs and regularly communicating the value proposition of America’s Credit Unions. This position will serve all of America’s Credit Union’s members, however this Director will specifically oversee credit union members with $250 million to $1 billion in assets.

Responsibilities:

• Relationship Building: Build and deepen relationships with credit unions and their leaders through strategic outreach, ensuring a thorough understanding of members’ needs and America’s Credit Unions’ ability to serve. Take a consultative approach to understanding members’ needs and expectations. Strategically engage with members through occasional attendance of industry meetings and events. Serve as a strategic thought leader for members. Activate members for advocacy efforts. Collaborate with staff across America’s Credit Unions to build respectful, mutually beneficial relationships while fulfilling Membership’s goals.
• Membership: Strategically pursue acquisition of non-member credit unions. Demonstrate the value of affiliation with America’s Credit Unions for non-members and reinforce that value to members. Explore needs-based opportunities to sell America’s Credit Unions products and services.
• Data: Understand the important role data plays in Membership, maintaining member data and contact information in America’s Credit Unions’ systems and per established processes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 7+ years of experience with member engagement and service delivery.
• 3+ years of experience in the credit union industry.
• Experience in the credit union system with regular interaction and engagement with CEOs and senior executives preferred.
• Access to a broad network of credit union system professionals is preferred
• Passionate about advancing the credit union movement/industry and a commitment to meeting the needs of our members.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage across the organization and externally with audiences at all levels.
• Political astuteness in credit union interactions.
• Understands the importance of a member-centric focus and a commitment to standards of excellence in engagement and service.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and pivot quickly when needed.
• Strong team player, who treats others with respect, and is someone people want to work with.
• Skilled at building meaningful relationships, working collaboratively, and managing conflict effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills, and a proven ability to engage and influence internally and externally.
• Strong knowledge of financial services and financial institutions including operations, finance, marketing and business development.
• Be a data-driven, outcome-driven leader.
• Strategic thinking, creative problem solving, and strong decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to travel 30-40 days per year.

This position is fully remote based out of any of the following states: Arizona, Colorado, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
