About The Role

At Loop, we're establishing the Idea Lab, an initiative designed to develop new products that stretch beyond our core hearable technologies. We're seeking a visionary Director to lead this cross-functional product development team. This role is for those who excel in fast-paced, innovative environments and are excited to bring products rapidly to market. As the Director of Idea Lab, you will be the driving force behind identifying and executing new product opportunities. You will lead a lean and agile, cross-functional team, leveraging external partnerships, including ODMs, to swiftly bring these products from concept to consumer.

What You'll Do:
 

• Lead the Idea Lab, setting strategic direction, overseeing program execution and ensuring the successful launch of a diverse range of products
• Build and develop a team of cross-functional experts in engineering, design, program and product management
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including ODMs, to ensure efficient product development
• Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging creative thinking and rapid prototyping to test new ideas
• Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery and quality
• Collaborate across departments to align the Idea Lab's projects with the broader company goals while maintaining its unique innovation-focused mandate
   

How You'll Do It:
 

• Possess over 10 years of experience in product development, with 8 years in a tech-focused leadership role
• Exhibit a track record of successfully bringing a diverse breadth of new, beautifully designed products to market
• Demonstrate experience in managing cross-functional teams and working with internal stakeholder teams and external partners including ODMs
• Proven strength in managing the development of multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Have a background in engineering or design, with significant business experience, with a knack for identifying emerging market trends and technologies.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related technical discipline, or design
   

Location

This role is based in New York City. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

New York pay range

$172,500—$230,000 USD
