General Description


The Digital Content Producer supports state and regional campaigns by developing compelling, audience-centered communications and digital content across earned, owned and paid channels. They will play a key role within an Advocacy Communications team to support a comprehensive communications strategy for priority projects and contribute to shaping an organization-wide narrative for our work. Specifically, they are responsible for localizing national messaging, writing and producing digital content, providing technical support for webinars and virtual events, sending email and SMS text communications, as well as conceptualizing videos, and other common communications elements.

This position plays a critical role in fostering an organizational culture where people feel respected, included, and accountable to shared goals and outcomes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Campaign Communications Support

  1. Adapt national content and messaging for local relevance, ensuring resonance with regional media, audiences, and decisionmakers by drafting and editing talking points, memos, blogs, emails, social content, events, and official statements.
  2. Translate dense, technical, or policy-heavy materials into clear, accessible communications for public audiences.
  3. Ensure all content is aligned with brand voice, accuracy standards and messaging guidelines.

Digital production

  1. Collaborate with External Affairs teams to plan and execute integrated, cross‑channel content and major creative initiatives—ranging from social and digital assets to film launches, webinars, and story maps—aligned to engagement, audience acquisition, and cultivation goals.
  2. Ensure content meets usability and accessibility standards.

Webinar & Virtual Events

  1. Serve as technical lead for all webinars and live virtual events for the communications pod. This includes, but is not limited to, setting up the backend of webinars, creating registration pages, coordinating individualized panelist links, leading panelists in a tech run-through by offering best practices for sound and audio quality and understanding the various functions of the Zoom to ensure that webinars run smoothly.

Email & Web Management

  1. Use EveryAction, a CRM management software system, for sending emails and creating action pages.
  2. Apply list management best practices to publish content and analyze performance.
  3. Publish to owned channels including organization website and assist with creating content for social media accounts to keep content timely, fresh, and updated.
  4. Compiles and tracks KPI’s, email and SMS results and other metrics to be delivered to External Affairs and conservation teams.

Cross-functional Teams & Partnership Collaboration

  1. Regularly communicate with TWS membership team to identify opportunities to fundraise for TWS and to inform and educate our members about our advocacy work.
  2. Support coalition communication work when necessary to ensure aligned messaging, shared assets, and coordinated timing of material release.
  3. Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by TWS (including, but not limited to, finance, human resources and legal) to maintain a compliant and efficient work environment.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in journalism, communications, external affairs, public relations, social media management, and/or marketing.
  2. Track record working successfully in teams representing a rich mix of talent, backgrounds, and perspectives—across race and gender.
  3. Strong understanding of marketing channels, including website, social media, email marketing, paid media, and influencer marketing. Basic understanding of the Funnel of Engagement is a plus.
  4. Preference will be given to candidates with experience using advocacy Content Relationship Management (CRM) systems, especially EveryAction.
  5. Familiarity working with Canva design platform, and/or knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud to create basic social media graphics and video.
  6. Experience developing digital content for email, social media, blogs and websites. Understanding of the latest social/digital trends and a passion for learning new digital platforms and tools a plus.
  7. Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), such as Drupal or WordPress. Strong understanding of content best practices for written and visual communications and familiarity with best practices for web writing and usability.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to shape strong narratives and translate complex policies succinctly and clearly for a public audience and decision makers.
