The Graduate School seeks a dynamic and innovative digital content specialist to join our communications team. This role is crucial in amplifying The Graduate School’s digital presence and fostering engagement with our student body at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Graduate education is fundamental to UNC-Chapel Hill’s goals of providing excellence in research, teaching, and public service. Communications from The Graduate School focus on strategic content that highlights 1) graduate education at UNC-Chapel Hill, 2) graduate student research, and 3) initiatives of The Graduate School that engage with a variety of audiences and stakeholders.
This position will primarily support content creation for owned and earned media efforts, including websites, social media and related channels. This includes creating original content through photography, videography, graphic design and writing. The digital communications specialist will also collaborate with colleagues within The Graduate School and across Carolina’s campus to positively represent The Graduate School and to communicate the essential contributions of graduate students to North Carolina and beyond.
The digital communications specialist will report to the executive director of communications, who reports to the dean of The Graduate School, to develop innovative communications strategies that resonate with both internal and external audiences. Deliverables will include social media content, website content, email newsletters, event promotion materials, and fundraising collateral.
This hybrid position offers a blend of independent and collaborative work across teams to produce accurate, strategic, and engaging content that adheres to best practices in writing and design, as well as University style and branding guidelines.
