We’re looking for an Infrastructure-Focused Data Engineer with a passion for building robust data platforms. This role will work at the intersection of data engineering and DevOps, leveraging skills in Starburst or Trino to create a highly performant, reliable, and scalable data ecosystem. This person will be deploying and managing the underlying infrastructure, while understanding the data architecture.

What You'll Do:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data infrastructure and pipelines that support analytics and data science teams.
• Deploy, configure, and optimize Starburst or Trino environments for distributed querying and data federation.
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud infrastructure teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and automated monitoring solutions for data systems.
• Enhance the performance, reliability, and security of our data platforms through best practices and innovative approaches.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that enable seamless access to data across the organization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across data pipelines, query engines, and distributed systems.
• Advocate for best practices in data engineering and DevOps to improve processes, tools, and workflows.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong infrastructure/DevOps focus.
• Skills:
• Hands-on experience with Starburst or Trino (setup, optimization, and troubleshooting).
• Proficiency in one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).
• Solid programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala for building data pipelines and automation.
• Experience with distributed systems, big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), and data storage solutions (e.g., S3, Snowflake, or Delta Lake).
