DevOps Engineer

What you can expect

As a DevOps Engineer at Zoom, you’ll ensure 99.999% uptime with zero-downtime solutions and disaster recovery. You’ll troubleshoot production, enhance CI/CD, and apply skills in Terraform, Ansible, OCI, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes—joining an award-winning, collaborative workplace.

About the Team

With eight specialized departments, the engineering team functions as a highly collaborative, diverse powerhouse. Each department mission is to deliver seamless and innovative communication solutions. These range from software development and machine learning to quality assurance teams that work to create and maintain Zoom's user-friendly interfaces and robust infrastructure. The team continues to push the boundaries of communication technology, bringing people together regardless of their physical distance.

Responsibilities

1. Designing and implement zero-downtime solutions for highly available services (99.999 percentage).
2. Developing and maintain disaster recovery (DR) strategies across datacenters in different regions.
3. Diagnosing and resolve complex production issues, including performance and functional challenges.
4. Collaborating with vendors, infrastructure teams, and engineering partners to enhance security and service availability.
5. Providing advanced troubleshooting support for outages across systems and Zoom backend services.
6. Developing and implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline production deployments and configurations.

What we’re looking for

1. Hold a Bachelor’s in a related field is required; a master’s is ideal.
2. Have robust analytical and troubleshooting skills, with proficiency in Terraform and Ansible scripting.
3. Hands-on experience with MySQL and Redis in production environments is required.
4. Be proficient in CI/CD tools and integration, with familiarity in OCI, AWS technologies, and database solutions (cache, NoSQL, relational).
5. Experience with Kubernetes, particularly AWS EKS, is a nice to have.
6. Have knowledge of proxy services or servers for web applications.
7. Hold excellent communication skills to work effectively across diverse teams.
8. Participate in 12x7 on-call rotation and provide deployment support on weekdays and weekends. US: 7:30 AM–7:30 PM PST, India: 7:30 PM–7:30 AM PST)

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$98 900,00

Maximum:

$228 700,00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
