Pantheon Data (a Kenific Holding company) is a private, small business based in the Washington, DC, area. Pantheon Data was founded in 2011, initially providing acquisition and supply chain management services to the US Coast Guard. Our service offerings have grown in the past ten years, including infrastructure resiliency, contact center operations, information technology, software engineering, program management, strategic communications, engineering, and cybersecurity. We have also grown our customer base to include commercial clients. The company has used this experience to expand our service offerings to other agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Defense (DoD), and other Federal Civilian Agencies.

Position Overview

Pantheon Data is seeking a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer with a background in cloud-based systems who is technically proficient and eager to learn. A successful candidate should be detail-oriented with a history of hands-on DevOps/system administration experience. He/she will be able to communicate clearly and effectively with engineers as well as less technical team members (e.g., project managers, customers, executive teams).

Responsibilities

  1. Manage and automate software development operational processes accurately and securely within a cloud-based infrastructure.
  2. Identify opportunities for operational improvement and streamline existing processes.
  3. Administer multiple customers' cloud environments simultaneously, ensuring appropriate redundancy and security compliance are maintained throughout.
  4. Provide Level 2 technical support, investigate and resolve issues.
  5. Build tools and automations to reduce errors and improve customer experience.
  6. Design and document procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
  7. Work within a growing engineering team to build and support technical solutions across customers and projects.
  8. Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines.
  9. Troubleshoot and debug production issues.
  10. Implement and maintain monitoring and logging systems.
  11. Continuously improve the development process and infrastructure.

Required Skills and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  2. 3-5 years professional, hands-on experience in a similar DevOps role.
  3. Autonomous, problem-solving attitude
  4. Strong knowledge of Git/GitHub and/or GitLab.
  5. Strong knowledge of Python
  6. AWS (Amazon Web Services) and/or Microsoft Azure. Certification(s) a plus.
  7. Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  8. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized with a strong commitment to quality.
  9. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations.
  10. U.S. citizenship required - must be able to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  1. Working knowledge of Agile Scrum methodology.
  2. Experience with project tasking tools, like JIRA/Confluence.
  3. Experience with Databricks
  4. SQL, relational and non-relational databases
  5. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  6. Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python.
  7. Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as CI/CD, Git, and Jenkins.
  8. Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  9. Experience with IaC (Terraform, AWS CDK) pipelines a plus
  10. Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus Grafana and ELK.
  11. Strong understanding of infrastructure such as code and automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Helm.
  12. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior developers.

Clearance Requirements

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
