Kind Lending is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will focus on building and maintaining secure, scalable production environments in both AWS and Azure. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with deployment pipelines, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), and CI/CD tooling, paired with a passion for driving efficiency, reliability, and quality in the software release process.

Pay Disclosure:

The starting base salary range for this position is $120,000 – $140,000 annually. The actual base is dependent on many factors such as: work experience, business needs, market demands, and other compensation components. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Work Location:

This position can be located in the Corporate Headquarters in Santa Ana, CA with the ability to work from home 1 to 2 days per week or Remote within the 50 United States if the successful candidate resides more than 30 miles from the office.

Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Development & Management:
2. Design, build, and manage production environments leveraging AWS and Azure services.
3. Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
4. Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI/CD):
5. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
6. Automate application deployments and updates for streamlined, error-free releases.
7. Monitoring & Performance:
8. Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK stacks) to ensure high availability and system reliability.
9. Identify performance bottlenecks and apply improvements to enhance scalability and stability.
10. Security & Compliance:
11. Collaborate with the security team to ensure adherence to best practices, compliance standards, and regulatory requirements.
12. Implement appropriate security configurations, IAM policies, and network controls.
13. Collaboration & Communication:
14. Work closely with development teams to understand requirements, share best practices, and ensure smooth integration of DevOps methodologies.
15. Participate in architectural discussions, sprint planning, and cross-functional initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
16. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
17. Maintain clear documentation of infrastructure, deployment processes, and environment configurations.
18. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications:

1. Education & Experience:
2. Hands-on experience in a DevOps or related engineering role.
3. Proven background with AWS or Azure services, including environment setup and cost optimization.
4. Technical Skills:
5. Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
6. Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, AKS).
7. Strong understanding of source control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
8. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
9. Soft Skills:
10. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
11. Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working within cross-functional teams.
12. Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to staying current with emerging technologies.
