Job Description:

Location: This position is remote/ hybrid-eligible, provided the candidate resides within the following markets: Santa Fe, Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas, Houston, New York, or Los Angeles.

Compensation: Compensation for this role is $80,000 to $120,600 and is based on experience and location.This is an exempt position.

The Developer, Mobile App will join a cross-functional team that is building new and amazing experiences that enhance Meow Wolf’s customer experiences. We are building next-generation storytelling products, games, and experiences that integrate cutting edge technology into the broader Meow Wolf creative ecosystem. This is a highly technical position that will require deep mobile app development experience, and a relentless pursuit to balance the limitations of existing technologies while developing boundary pushing solutions for creative and experience goals.

You will bring value and quality to Meow Wolf mobile applications thereby elevating the guest experience.

How you will do it…

• Develop mobile applications in Flutter that deliver innovative guest experiences

• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

• Contribute to regular code reviews to uphold engineering standards

• Collaborate with DevOps and work collaboratively within a modern software development framework

• Collaborate with the Product Management team to scope, design, and ship new features

• Document technical requirements that clearly communicate user needs, relevant acceptance criteria, and recommended solutions.

• Contribute to regular backlog grooming and sprint planning rituals.

• Research and suggest new mobile products, applications, and protocols

• Stay up-to-date with emerging mobile technology trends

• Support other developers in building their Flutter, iOS, and Android skill sets

To be successful in this role…

• You come with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience

• You bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience designing and developing consumer facing mobile applications, primarily in Flutter

• You have experience working in native development (iOS and Android) and other mobile programming languages (ReactNative, Dart)

• You have experience using REST-based and/or GraphQL based APIs (Hasura)

• You have experience with front end frameworks such as vue.js and React

• You are proficient in using NodeJS & npm

• You can translate Figma, Illustrator, or After Effects designs into Flutter UI elements

• You have experience writing tests and an inclination towards TDD

• You have Experience using tools like JIRA to write user stories and capture technical requirements

• You come with a strong understanding of application design patterns and microservice architecture

• You have a general understanding of UX/UI best practices

• You have a keen appreciation of MLP and desire to iterative and improve

It would be nice to have…

• A passion for creating user-centric and high quality mobile applications

• A background in entertainment industries such as film, gaming, media, art, or events

• Comfort programming in multiple languages such as Python, JavaScript (or preferably TypeScript), React, HTML, CSS.

• Experience integrating with various content delivery, management, and streaming services for mobile applications, such as Strapi, Sanity, Directus, Vimeo, Soundcloud, Airtable, etc

• Experience using cloud infrastructure and serverless functions including Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Cloudflare, and so on

• Gaming experience, either as a game developer or someone passionate about all types of games

• A solid understanding of motion graphic limitations and animation libraries available for mobile

• Experience with AR/XR/VR (Unity, Unreal)

• Experience integrating with CRMs (Hubspot)

• Experience with push notifications (OneSignal)

• Experience optimizing real-time experiences for mobile, including understanding of caching layer architectures and techniques for offline sync

• Experience developing e-commerce pipelines for mobile

Work environment & physical demands…

• This position is remote friendly and a company laptop will be provided

• This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday – there may be the rare instance requiring flexibility to work during weekends based on business needs

• There is potential for infrequent travel to exhibition sites or company headquarters (if remote) for this position

• This role does not include supervisory or disciplinary responsibilities
