Insurity’s Next Developer

As a Developer in our Customer Innovation Center, you will work on a Development team supporting Insurity’s Policy Administration System. You will be working on a multi-functional development team to create new features, modify existing features, fix defects, and continue to enhance our product through innovative ideas. We are looking for a forward-thinking, motivated software developer who loves technology, learns from failures and want to grow with the Insurity team while making our customers successful.

What Our Developer Will Do

  • Provide technical feedback during Release Planning, Team Refinements including sizing/estimating stories
  • Actively participate in Daily Stand-ups
  • Actively participate and contribute to technical design discussions and decisions around designing new features
  • Develop new feature and modify existing features within our Policy Admin product
  • Contribute to quality by performing effective unit testing to validate code
  • Assist team with testing when needed
  • Mentor junior developers
  • Provide peer-review of designs, code, and artifact delivery

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (equivalent work experience may be considered)
  • Proficiency with Object Oriented principles, SOLID principles, Data Structures, Databases, XML/JSON, VB.NET/C#.NET
  • Knowledge of P&C insurance concepts is a plus (training will be provided otherwise)
  • Comfortable working collaboratively through code reviews, both giving and receiving
  • Proven ability to write modular, well-tested, and maintainable code. Comfortable advocating for improvements including technical debt
  • Proven ability to be proactive, work independently, manage time effectively and thrive in a lean environment

Nice to have: Experience in software development using the Agile/SAFe methodology

Where: This role will be based in our Hartford, CT office or remotely.

Along with the benefits listed above, the salary range for this role is $65,000 to $120,000 commensurate with experience.
