350 Wisconsin and 350 Wisconsin Action are seeking to hire a dedicated Deputy Director to join our team. For more senior candidates who have more organization-wide management experience, we are open to a role growing into a co-executive director position. This position is appropriate for someone who is interested in supporting an energetic, upbeat, and growing nonprofit organization and grassroots activist community focused on climate change and justice. 350 Wisconsin is committed to supporting employee growth and development and fosters an inclusive and welcoming work environment. If you’re excited about this role, but your past experience doesn’t completely align with every qualification in the job description, we still encourage you to apply.
The Deputy Director role is a permanent position and will work directly with our Executive Director/Development Director along with other fundraising, communications, and administrative staff to support 350 Wisconsin and 350 Wisconsin Action’s mission and vision.
Position Overview
The following is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities, but is representative of the types of work performed and managed by the Deputy Director. This position would primarily focus on nonprofit leadership, communication, community organizing, and staff and volunteer management. We are seeking applicants who possess a meaningful degree of skills and experience in the majority of these areas. We are also open to crafting a position with more focus on the areas that a promising candidate possesses, so if you have more experience in a certain area, please let us know.
350 Wisconsin also works closely with our sister organization, 350 Wisconsin Action. 350 Wisconsin Action is a C4 organization that shares much of its staff and works toward keeping the climate crisis at the center of the political conversation and pushing for progressive policies that address the climate crisis in ways that center racial, social, and economic justice. This position would also oversee 350 Wisconsin Action and its activities in conjunction with the Executive Director.
