Duties
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take dental X-rays
- Educate patients about oral hygiene and after-care instructions
- Maintain dental charts and update patient records using Dentrix software
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the office appointment system
- Support front desk activities including phone calls, filing, and billing
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Current X-ray certification
- Experience with Dentrix or similar dental software
- Knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures
- Experience working with children is a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and patient privacy
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
