Description: The Database Administrator will be a part of a talented team that designs and builds mission-critical applications for Government enterprise systems. The Database Administrator will design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance-tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. The successful candidate also will develop, implement, and oversee database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.

 

 

Database Administrator Job Duties:

  • Design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance-tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software
  • Recommends solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data backup, and recovery specifications
  • Maintains database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters, implementing new releases, completing maintenance requirements, and evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products
  • Monitor and maintain Oracle databases, perform regular database patching, and analyze and maintain stored procedures
  • Develop custom queries and reports on an as-needed basis
  • Participate in Agile Scrum meetings and work collaboratively with a team
  • Mentor and cross-train technical staff
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Security Clearance Requirements: None required upon applying but must be willing to undergo background check to obtain a Public Trust security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

 

 

Desired Skills / Qualifications: Database performance tuning; software development life cycle process; excellent teamwork and verbal communication skills. Experience with Oracle 19C required.

 

 

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, business and management, or related field

 

 

Location: Remote

 

 

Status: Full time

 

 

Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday

 

 

Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long durations of time. Also, must be able to continuously operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.

 

 

Travel Required: No
