The database administrator contributes directly to our company’s efficiency, reliability, and overall success in the market. Key measures of success include system uptime, response time improvements, and data security enhancements.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain Database Systems: Ensure database systems are operational 24/7, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting to prevent and minimize downtime
- Optimize Performance: Analyze and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and configuration settings to enhance application responsiveness
- Ensure Data Security: Implement robust security measures, manage access controls, and conduct regular audits to safeguard sensitive information against unauthorized access or breaches
- Data Backup and Recovery: Design and manage backup procedures to ensure data redundancy and the ability to quickly restore information in case of data loss
- Database Design and Implementation: Work with development teams to design and deploy database structures that meet the needs of new and evolving applications within the company
- Database schema validation: Work closely with development teams to suggest schema, index and statistics optimization. Perform code review of suggested modifications by development.
- Monitor and Report: Ongoing monitoring of system health and performance, generating reports for stakeholders to support strategic decision-making
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in database management to recommend and implement improvements
You are:
- Obtained a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, and a minimum of 5 years DBA experience
- Certifications in database management (Microsoft Certified, Oracle Certified, etc.) is preferred
- Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
- Excellent knowledge of MS-SQL server
- Strong knowledge of other SQL engines (some NoSQL knowledge a plus)
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation:
The target compensation for this position is $100,000 - 130,000 in most remote locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above
