Job Title: Data Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our growing data team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines and data infrastructure that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. You will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and engineering teams to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and scalable. This is a fully remote position open to candidates based in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and transform large datasets.
2. Develop and manage data warehouses and data lakes to support analytics and reporting needs.
3. Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across various systems.
4. Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deliver clean, well-structured datasets.
5. Optimize database performance and data processing workflows.
6. Implement data integration solutions from multiple sources including APIs, databases, and third-party platforms.
7. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure smooth data flow and minimal downtime.
8. Document data architecture, processes, and technical specifications.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2. 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
3. Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
4. Experience with data pipeline and workflow tools such as Apache Airflow, Luigi, or similar.
5. Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
6. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
7. Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data modeling concepts.
8. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
