Role Overview
Title: Dynamics 365 CE Developer (Power Platform) Focus Areas: Customer Service & Sales (CRM only – no ERP, no Marketing) Level: Open to Junior or Mid-Level Environment: D365 Online | Agile / PI Planning | Fast-Paced, Net-New Development
This role is a hands-on D365 CRM developer responsible for building and enhancing business solutions within Dynamics 365 CE, with a strong emphasis on model-driven apps, JavaScript customization, and Power Platform workflows. The team is modernizing delivery by incorporating AI-driven tools to accelerate development and improve stakeholder engagement.
Business Need / Why This Role Exists
- Backfill role supporting ongoing and net-new D365 solutions
- High volume of new development driven directly by business stakeholders
- Embedded in PI planning and Agile delivery cycles
- Company-wide push toward AI-enabled development to speed up solution delivery and feedback cycles
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and customize model-driven applications (primary focus ~90%)
- Develop and enhance:
- Forms, tables, views, and business rules (Dataverse)
- Business logic using JavaScript (onChange/onSave, form logic, ribbon commands)
- Build and maintain Power Automate flows and Power Apps solutions
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, prototype solutions, and deliver scalable CRM functionality
- Support troubleshooting, enhancements, and continuous improvements across D365 CE
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with developers and product teams
Technical Stack & Requirements (Must-Have)
- 2–3+ years Dynamics 365 CE / CRM development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with model-driven apps (non-negotiable)
- Solid JavaScript customization experience within D365
- Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate
- Understanding of Sales and/or Customer Service processes in D365
- Comfortable building net-new solutions and adapting to varying requirements
AI & Modern Development Focus (Key Differentiator)
- Team is actively incorporating AI tools to improve development speed and solution quality
- Exposure or curiosity around the following is highly valued:
- D365 Copilot
- Generative Pages (used to quickly prototype solutions for stakeholder feedback)
- AI features within Power Apps
- AI expertise is not required, but an AI-first mindset is important
- Ideal candidate uses AI to:
- Build faster prototypes
- Improve stakeholder demos and early visibility
- Increase overall delivery velocity
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Exposure to Power BI for reporting and insights
- Familiarity with code apps or extending D365 with custom solutions
- Experience working with connectors (e.g., SharePoint) within Power Automate
