Department Information

The Student and Campus Event Centers team is a dynamic group of professionals that supports Georgia Tech's invigorating educational community. We support the mission of Georgia Tech with a variety of services: facilitating meetings and events, providing postal and other critical services, activating campus with social and educational programming, and ensuring a safe and inviting space for the campus to reset, restore, and refuel. To ensure a thriving community, our custodial team supports the John Lewis Student Center, Stamps Commons, West Village Commons, Exhibition Hall, and the Historic Academy of Medicine.

Job Summary

Supervise and monitor activities of custodial personnel in delivery of building cleaning services within an assigned area. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Facilities management, custodial management and staff, quality control personnel and area building management. This position typically will advise and counsel: building management and custodial personnel This position will supervise: custodial staff.

Custodial Supervisor Shift Tuesday-Saturday: 7am-3:30pm

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Set and maintain work assignments and schedules of custodial personnel; monitor performance and maintain associated records.

Job Duty 2 -

Inspect work areas and confer regularly with building management and occupants regarding quality of service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Job Duty 3 -

Coordinate and conduct training of custodial personnel; maintain associated records.

Job Duty 4 -

Requisition and supervise the maintenance of materials and supplies.

Job Duty 5 -

Supervise the proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment.

Job Duty 6 -

Perform other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements

Required Qualifications

High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Other Required Qualifications

Rotating shift work is required in maintaining 24x7 coverage.

Required Experience

Four to five years of job related experience

Valid Georgia Driver's License

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

This job requires skills in the management of custodial services delivery including organization and planning, scheduling, supervision, communications, customer service and related record keeping. Also included are knowledge and skills in custodial processes and procedures and equipment operation and maintenance.
