Job Description:

The Crew Foreman, will report to the General Foreman.

Job Overview

The Crew Foreman is a field position responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of all their assigned field construction crew. A Crew Foreman has a solid background in the field. Their leadership skills and your extensive experience have earned you the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. They must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else. They manage the daily schedule, coordinating with the superintendents and General Foreman on what needs to be completed each day and week. They are responsible for ensuring their assigned crew’s tasks are completed in a timely manner. They are responsible for ensuring that all work is done to company quality standards and will be performing aspects of the work alongside their crew.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
  • Manage schedules and monitor attendance of crew
  • Track crew hours and tasks each day to ensure records are accurate
  • Construction crew task management
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities
  • Ensure the quality of all crew construction work
  • Supervise, train and give feedback to workers
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
  • Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets and procedures
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
  • Peacefully resolve any emerging problems and issues
  • Report on progress to managers, superintendents and project managers
  • Facilitate material ordering and delivery
  • Coordinate project details with office staff
  • Manage tools to ensure they are stored properly and in good working order
  • Quickbooks workforce phone application use or similar applications
  • Ability to use email and check it regularly
  • Jobsite management
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.) or other relevant construction experience.
  • 3+ Years of construction experience
  • 1+ Years of experience managing
  • Leadership skills
  • Strong background in structural framing/finish carpentry
  • Organizational skills
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines
  • Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • Aptitude in math
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to follow a schedule
  • Ability to manage paperwork
  • Ability to use phone Applications
  • Ability to perform construction activities
  • Ability to use email
