Join a team of Research, Development, Test, & Evaluation (RDT&E) professionals who are identifying, integrating, and assessing technologies and concepts to help protect America’s homeland in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Office of Mission and Capability Support (MCS).
Amentum is actively seeking a Research Analyst with Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems/C-UAS experience to assess all-source C-UAS information and create products to support DHS technology acquisition and tactics, techniques, and procedures development. The successful candidate will drive project execution in collaboration with DHS HQ, S&T, and Component staffs, vendors, subject matter experts, and other government and industry stakeholders. This is a telework position, located within vicinity of the National Capitol Region to support customer engagements.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assess structured and unstructured UAS flight and supplementary data from geospatial sensor systems and other resources to distill information into cohesive analytical products.
- Generate and present reports, briefs, presentations, and other analytic research projects to key decision makers to illuminate UAS flight trends, entities, areas of interest, and patterns of evolving threats.
- Work with Government and industry stakeholders to develop additional areas of interest, and design research goals, data collection means, and reporting requirements.
- Analyze and translate data into useful insights that contribute to future C-UAS system technology development, selection, and operational employment actions.
- Demonstrate excellent research, analytical, and communication skills, a strong attention to detail, the ability to think critically and creatively, and ability to anticipate customer needs.
- Demonstrate an understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to collection of information for law enforcement activities within the United States.
- Work with initiative both independently and in a team environment.
- Supervise other staff members as assigned.
- Other associated or adjacent duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have an active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Must be able to pass DHS entry of duty (EOD) requirements to start, and maintain Public Trust suitability status
- Bachelor’s Degree and eight (8) years of experience with DHS and/or DoD all-source intelligence analysis and production, OR, a high school diploma and sixteen (16) years of experience with DHS and/or DoD all-source intelligence analysis and production
- Experience working with commercial or Government GIS systems, ArcGIS or similar tools, and OSINT and other data sources through the intelligence cycle.
- Experience working independently, or as a team member, to develop and present high-quality deliverables tailored to senior policymakers, including complex written products and formal or informal briefings.
- Telework in vicinity of the National Capitol Region for local travel.
- Excellent interpersonal management, communication, organizational and analytical skills
- Up to 15% travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Public Trust designation
- Active Top Secret national security clearance
- Knowledge of C-UAS methods, industry leaders, and US Government authorities.
- Understanding of sUAS threats, electronic and communications systems, components, and materials as applicable to Department of Homeland Security missions.
- Knowledge of DHS, DoD, or other law enforcement C-UAS efforts during the last five years
- Experience using DHS GII, Aerial Armor, Hidden Level, or similar UAS detection and monitoring services.
- FAA part 107 license
Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 per year (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data)
