Copywriter/Proofreader - HABA Consumer Packaged Goods
As a copywriter, you will be expected to produce engaging and persuasive written information for product packaging, presentations, social media, websites and any advertising related to the SJ/L&R products. You will work closely with the designers, product managers, and regulatory personnel to make sure all content is engaging and descriptive, and meets the requirements of the appropriate governing agency (FDA, USDA, INCI, GTIN, etc). Along with the copywriting you will be responsible for proofing all presentations and packaging for errors prior to release to the sales team or production.
- Job Responsibilities
- Writing clear and error-free content for packaging, presentations, websites and any other content needed that reflects the company’s vision and voice
- Working with the product managers and graphic artists to understand their message and target audience
- Proposing copy concepts in an engaging way for customers and carrying out projects once they are approved
- Interpreting creative direction and technical information and turning them into persuasive copy concepts
- Become a subject matter expert in governing agency do’s and dont’s in relation to copy, ingredient listings, and claims on our product, including OTC & drug facts labeling
- Research and be knowledgeable about cosmetic ingredients and their functions and benefits
- Working with internal departments to edit and modify copy to meet content expectations and eliminate errors
- Review and correct Grammar, spelling and punctuation errors on packaging and marketing materials.
- Other Responsibilities
- Check, assess, and track trademark conflicts for logos and copy before release

- Manage company’s current registered trademarks, and new submissions

- Core Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of copywriting experience in Consumer Packaged Goods products
- Experience in cosmetics or beauty industry preferred
- 5+ years recent in-office experience
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Software requirements:
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Project management tools (Asana, MS Teams)
- Knowledge of ERP software – Netsuite experience is a plus
