Job Description:

Kharon is a highly disruptive and incredibly innovative organization that navigates risk at the intersection of global security threats + international commerce.

What does that mean? Great question.

We take really complex data as it relates to global security and empower our clients to not only understand the risk associated with their potential business relationships but to operationalize that data so that they can make the best and most informed decisions possible. From financial crimes and sanctions to export controls and threat identifications, our tools optimize protection against the types of security threats that could otherwise be incredibly dangerous and excessively costly to any business. Serving many of today's leading global financial and multinational institutions, Kharon products are the most powerful in the space with a precision and depth that is absolutely unparalleled. Full stop.

When you look at any major global crisis event, we're providing information that's at the heart of those circumstances. We connect the dots in a way that's meaningful. This year in particular, we're experiencing unprecedented growth. The impact of recent global events, especially, has resulted in heightened demand for our products and services which is why we're looking for a Content Writer to champion the production of the Kharon Brief.

What is the "Kharon Brief"? We're glad you asked.

While it could be considered our version of a blog, it's much more substantial and impactful than that. The Kharon Brief is a publication that covers in-depth investigative pieces, particularly related to global security threats that impact commerce and finance, and is read by thousands of leading risk management, compliance, national security and technology officials around the world.

So…what's the role? We thought you'd never inquire.

Your role will be to compile all the research, investigative analysis and news coverage for The Brief and articulate it in a way that appeals to and informs our readers. Curating and offering analysis on the most important stories of the day, you'll work closely with Kharon's leadership and Analyst teams to drive Kharon's topical and research-rich content. Ensuring an organized writing schedule and following an editorial calendar, you will produce investigative pieces that are published on a consistent basis. This role will have an "Editor" element to it as you'll collaborate with our content production team to ensure robust, well-researched and timely publications that are written in the Kharon voice, tone and format.Tailoring content for multiple platforms, including our website, email marketing, and social media, you will ultimately own the curation of this publication and drive the success of this product as Kharon continues to evolve The Brief into a world-class platform.

Sound like your cup of tea? Well, let's talk about you!

With a preference to operate autonomously (team leader vs. team player) you are motivated by your pursuit in being a subject matter expert with a well-rounded perspective; The more data, facts and figures - the better! Driven by your objective to stay in the know, you have strong research-skills that translate into well-organized, thoughtful and informative pieces. Demonstrated experience or interest in national security, foreign affairs, or business writing is strongly preferred as that will propel your ability to understand our product and the content that you will curate. But most importantly, you are comfortable with and know how to adhere to our editorial style guidelines and policies for publication; that will be your North Star.

This position will be best suited for someone with a journalistic background. That doesn't mean you're a journalist now, but having the experience, discipline and understanding of that field will be key to your ultimate success.

Wow, that was a lot. To break this position down, here's the executive summary of the role in bullet-form:

  • Compile research, investigative analysis and news coverage for The Brief
  • Curate and offer analysis on the most important stories of the day
  • Work closely with Kharon's leadership and Analyst teams to drive Kharon's topical and research-rich content
  • Collaborate with the Kharon content production team (including a content manager, editors, and web publishers) to ensure robust, well-researched and timely publications that are written in the Kharon voice, tone and format.
  • Follow an editorial calendar and organize writing schedules to complete drafts of content or finished projects within deadlines
  • Tailor content for multiple platforms, such as websites, email marketing, product descriptions and videos, and social media

Throughout our recruiting process, you will be asked for samples of your work.

So, that's the role and to the right person, this will be the perfect kind of challenge. Our mission is compelling, our product is powerful and we're growing at a rate that makes us unstoppable. If you're looking to be surrounded by people who will inspire you to think and challenge you to grow then look no further! Our team is made up of some of the most visionary and uncompromising individuals you will ever meet. We don't take ourselves seriously but we're serious about the work we do and there is absolutely no slowing us down!

To keep that momentum going, we do our very best to make sure that each and every team member is completely taken care of. From generous time off and fully paid medical plans to daily catered lunches and full-loaded break rooms, we're nothing without our people so we provide benefits and perks that reflect that. You can count on…

  • All the equipment you need to be successful in your role.
  • Fully remote or hybrid environment (HQ is in L.A. and hubs are in D.C., N.Y., and London)
