The Concrete 3D Printer Operator will lead the setup, calibration, and execution of robotic concrete printing operations using KUKA robotic arms and Rhinoceros-based design workflows. This role is central to FMGI’s additive construction initiatives, bridging digital design with physical fabrication in the field.
Key Responsibilities
•Robotic Operation & Setup
Configure and operate KUKA robotic arms for concrete printing tasks
Calibrate motion paths, end-effectors, and safety zones for printing operations
•Design Integration
Interpret and adapt 3D models from Rhinoceros and Grasshopper for robotic execution
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to optimize print paths and layer strategies
•Field Execution
Oversee on-site printing operations, ensuring alignment with project
specifications and robotic performance during live operations
•Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform routine maintenance on robotic systems and printing equipment
Diagnose and resolve mechanical or software issues in real time
•Documentation & Reporting
Record operational parameters, print outcomes, and lessons learned
Contribute to continuous improvement of printing workflows and safety protocols
Qualifications
•2+ years of hands-on experience with KUKA robotic systems in construction or manufacturing
•Proficiency in Rhinoceros and Grasshopper for parametric modeling and toolpath generation
•Familiarity with concrete materials and additive construction workflows
•Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in dynamic field environments
•Commitment to safety, precision, and collaborative innovation
•Technical degree or certification in robotics, mechatronics, or digital fabrication (Bachelor’s preferred) is a plus
