Maximus is hiring a Competitive Intelligence Price To Win Principal Analyst to be responsible for conducting Price To Win (PTW) and collecting/assessing competitive intelligence on priority bids. The role requires working closely with business development and sales, capture managers, the competitive analysis team, solution architects, and cost/ pricing strategy teams. Candidates should have proposal and competitive intelligence collection and assessment experience. Understanding the entire deal flow is essential.
This position calls for an experienced senior analyst possessing 5 + years of Price to Win experience who can work with various types of technology, product offerings and contract types to determine price and non-price targets the company should bid in order to win a competitive opportunity. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a track record of working autonomously and within diverse work groups and has demonstrated behaviors that inform and influence senior and executive leadership. The required skill level is considered senior, and thus expected to possess the ability to work with minimal day-to-day supervision.
In addition, the incumbent must be able to present concise analysis and recommendations to business development and capture team members and senior leadership. For this reason, excellent team and communication skills as well as comfort with ambiguity are essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to develop detailed knowledge of customer buying patterns, competitor bid tendencies, and assess competitor technical/business strategies and capabilities and the resulting impact on pricing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Determine customer buying patterns and competitor bid tendencies through analysis of corporate information repository and business intelligence information, and then develop PTW findings that guide win strategy and pricing
- Perform competitive cost analysis and price to win estimates for strategic and highly visible proposal efforts
- Work as an integral part of the capture and proposal team, assisting in the development of competitive pricing strategies, developing scoring sensitivity analyses, projecting competitive behaviors, identifying risks, and interpreting solicitation requirements
- Act as a member of the core capture team on high visibility opportunities
- Coordinate the collection and dissection of competitive proposal data gathered from internal and external sources and databases including Gov Win, Dun & Bradstreet, and the internal FOIA process
- Interface with sales, business development and capture management regarding competitive positioning and analyses, including the reconciliation of price to win projections to the proposed cost and price model
- May participate in the negotiation of contract awards if needed
- Provide guidance and work leadership to members of the proposal and capture teams to be used for proposal strategy development
- Maintain current knowledge of the competitive landscape and maintain and update data repositories with the results of proposed procurements
- Participate in strategy meetings, status meetings and senior management reviews including the presentation of competitive analyses and recommendations
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management, Accounting or Financial Management or a related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience
- 10+ years of Price to Win (preferred) experience, Pricing, or financial proposal experience in State and Local Health and Human Services competitive procurements
- Must be able to work simultaneously on multiple highly visible projects and reprioritize as new opportunities come up and periodically provide subject matter expertise to capture teams for bids where an independent perspective is warranted
- Solid understanding of the State and Local government competitive pricing market and procurement tendencies
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills and ability work to with and present recommendations to senior and executive management
- Knowledge and understanding of statistical methods for forecasting and projecting competitive behavior
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, or other related software programs
- Knowledge and understanding of current technology, engineering disciplines, and analysis of competitor bidding and pricing strategies; other skills are planning and implementing competitive intelligence and cost modeling
