We are a high-precision aerospace machine shop looking for an autonomous, expert-level CMM Programmer to take complete ownership of our metrology lab. We operate a Hexagon Global Scan plus 7.10.7 running PC-DMIS, and we utilize High QA for our inspection planning and data management.

Key Responsibilities

1. PC-DMIS Programming: Develop, debug, and optimize complex, automated CMM programs directly from 3D CAD models and 2D engineering blueprints.
2. Hexagon Setup & Operation: Set up and operate our Hexagon Global Scan plus 7.10.7. Build, configure, and qualify appropriate probing (including analog scanning parameters).
3. Inspection Automation: Utilize High QA software to handle blueprint ballooning, create Quality Inspection Plans (QIPs), and streamline inspection data workflows.
4. Precision Inspection: Perform first-article (FAI), in-process, and final dimensional inspections on tight-tolerance machined parts.
5. GD&T Expertise: Interpret advanced engineering drawings using a flawless understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
6. Floor Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing engineers and machinists to troubleshoot process variations based on your CMM data.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated CMM programming experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment (Aerospace strongly preferred).
2. Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in PC-DMIS is non-negotiable. Experience with High QA software is highly preferred.
3. Hardware Familiarity: Direct experience optimizing scanning paths on Hexagon Global or similar scanning-probe CMMs.
4. Print Reading: Expert-level blueprint reading skills and robust GD&T knowledge.
5. Independence: Ability to walk into the lab on day one, qualify your probes, drop a CAD model into PC-DMIS, and program a part with zero supervision.
