Senior Cloud Integration Engineer (Remote-First | P&C Insurance)
James Search Group is partnering with a top-tier Property & Casualty insurance organization undergoing a major technology transformation. We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Integration Engineer to help design and deliver modern, scalable integration solutions across a rapidly evolving cloud ecosystem.
This is a remote-first role with optional hybrid access to 12 U.S. office locations, offering a base salary of $120,000–$150,000 + bonus, 401(k) match, and comprehensive benefits.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a high-impact engineering team responsible for connecting core systems, digital platforms, and third-party services. This role sits at the intersection of cloud, integration architecture, and modern software engineering, with strong visibility across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
Build & Deliver Integration Solutions
- Design and implement robust, scalable integrations using MuleSoft, Apache Camel, and Spring Boot
- Develop cloud-native services on AWS, ensuring performance, resilience, and maintainability
- Translate business requirements into clean, reusable integration components
Enhance Reliability & Performance
- Own testing strategies, monitoring, and production support for integration services
- Implement observability, alerting, and performance tuning best practices
- Contribute to incident management and continuous improvement efforts
Drive Cloud & DevOps Excellence
- Support infrastructure automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS SAM
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodePipeline
- Work across teams to streamline deployments and optimize cloud usage
Collaborate & Influence
- Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and technical planning
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in integration or backend engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft, Apache Camel, and Spring Boot (Java)
- Solid programming skills in Java, plus Python and/or Node.js
- Deep familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS, VPC, IAM)
- Experience with Terraform (required) and AWS SAM (required)
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and SOA principles
- Experience with Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes
- Exposure to modern CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
