This Cloud/Azure Engineering Manager opportunity on the U.S. Navy’s Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program will allow participation on a high-visibility DoD program that provides engineering support to the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), the largest information technology (IT) network in the world.  This position will provide many opportunities to challenge and grow your skills.

A successful candidate will provide Engineering management and program leadership relating to the transformation of existing Enterprise IT systems and architectures to Cloud / Azure centric solutions, including definition of required skills and skill transformations, supporting organizational structures, engineering processes, and staffing the organization to support the definition, design, structure, data protection/security, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and delivering innovative ITSM strategies, services and solutions to the NMCI.  The candidate coordinates with Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Proposal managers, proposal solution leads, other Engineering managers, Service Delivery Managers, ITSM process managers, Domain Architects, project managers, customers, stakeholders, and staff engineers to support ongoing activities as well as new projects to maintain, transform, and modernize the NMCI.

The selected candidate will be a senior member of the SMIT organization, providing strategic leadership, including creation or application of modernization strategies, architectures, roadmaps, and CONOPS. The Manager must be able to understand and lead the organization to apply concepts of current and emerging technologies including, but not limited to, AI ML, Cybersecurity, Digital Transformation, Cloud, Data Science, and broader Leidos technology to bring solutions to our customer as well as drive Leidos’ Independent Research & Development (IR&D) to reflect business priorities.

What You'll Get to Do:
•Provide management and technical advice/input that impact strategic client outputs and Leidos business results.
•Communicate with stakeholders about status of projects and any problems with technical solutions being implemented.
•Analyze complex IT development needs and identify staffing solutions to include potential new tools, technologies and recommendations.
•Assist leadership, capture and proposal teams in understanding and addressing technology.
•Continually research the current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed.
•Work with the program team in the design and development of new applications, COTS products and infrastructure, integrating new solutions on existing applications within the Cloud.
•Apply knowledge and past experiences in developing and deploying systems on the Cloud, using CI/CD frameworks and infrastructure automation.
•Design, modify, and test technical architecture.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years or prior relevant experience as a key engineering leader (Senior Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer, Solution Architect, Senior Technical leader) or similar role with specific Azure experience.
-Generally with 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
•Must be a US Citizen and the abbility to obtain Secret Clearance.
•Excellent organizational, analytical and consulting skills to understand the needs of an organization and find solutions.
•Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels including senior executive leadership regarding highly complex and critical topics to negotiate and implement solutions.
•Experience in Cloud operations such as Azure, AWS, and GCP. Demonstrated knowledge of cloud-based application development.
•Experience working in a DevOps, Continuous Delivery (CICD), and Agile environments using code delivery mechanisms, continuous build systems, code repositories, and continuous delivery solutions.
•A working knowledge of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), AI/ML, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity.
•Travel may be required.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Multiple years of management experience and experience building new teams / transforming skillsets of existing teams to support Cloud / Azure solutions.
•Multiple years of Cloud/Azure engineering experience.
•Working experience on project implementations and migrations in an Azure cloud environment.
•Experience as an IT project manager.
•Certification and experience in Agile methodology.
•Security+ equivalent or higher certification (IAT Level II+).
