Technology Support Services is the Information Technology unit of the Shoreline Community College, which supports the technology infrastructure and desktop technology needs of the entire organization's business and academic functions. TSS' overall responsibilities include but are not limited to the network and networking infrastructure, desktop and portable device support, database and application development, email and web-based services, data and telecommunications systems, and security and IT related policies.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Management of Student Lab personnel
  • Co-Management of designing and deployment of Windows, Apple, and Chrome operating systems using JAMF, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, and Intune
  • Backup administrator for the campus Microsoft Active Directory, including user and group access rights, file permissions, home and shared network directories, startup profiles, shared printing, and report distribution systems
  • Local Security Administrator (LSA) for Shoreline Community College ctcLink (PeopleSoft)
  • Research and Development of ongoing innovations and new technologies to support ongoing operations
  • Assist with the development and configuration of networking infrastructure
  • Assist with risk assessment for current and future software, and hardware deployments
  • Creation and modification of network/email accounts for Students, Faculty, and Staff



Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Server applications Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL in a medium to large enterprise or educational environment
  • In depth knowledge of enterprise data center environments, including server operating system patching and organizational backup/restore
  • Experience as a system administrator with server/desktop operating systems such as:
    • Windows, Apple, and Chrome Desktop operating systems
    • Windows Server 2012 R2 - Server 2019
  • System administration experience working with Microsoft on premise and cloud server applications such as SharePoint, MECM, and IIS
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerShell and Apple Terminal
  • Experience in Asset and personnel management


KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • DNS, DHCP, IPSec, VPN, Print Services, Radius and .Net Framework
  • OSI model and TCP/IP, including routing, switching and wireless networking concepts
  • Enterprise data processing management systems including imaging, anti-virus, anti-spam, and anti-spy ware solutions
  • Management of Cloud based solutions, including but not limited to Azure and AWS

Conditions of Employment

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The College is currently providing services in a mixed modality of operations (both online and in-person services are offered). This position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus, ability to communicate in person or through appropriate means. Please note, there may be limited opportunities for online work depending on program or area needs. If authorized for online work, employees will need to provide their own workspace and internet access, noting the College will provide technical equipment and support for online work needs.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/SALARY:

This position is allocated to pay range 06IT under the Washington State Office of Financial Management higher education salary schedule. Salary placement for new employees is determined by the College. This position works a minimum of 40 hours per week, with schedule dependent upon department needs and is an overtime exempt position. Hiring of this position is contingent on available funding as determined by the College President.
