We are hiring for a Chemical Engineer in our Albuquerque, NM manufacturing facility to support our foam processing pourline.This will be a 2ndshift position once training has been completed on day shift.

Responsibilities Include:
Drive safety policies and actively works to solution and install engineer controls to better protect the workforce and create a safe working environment.
Engage daily with both shifts to assess needs for mechanical and chemical changes to maintain foam quality and productivity.
Assist in identifying and formulating plans to implement cost savings projects across Slabstock.
Contribute to ongoing projects as throughout the plant and engage to become a leading authority on all foam and chemical related projects.
Troubleshoots issues and works to solution problems that arise with various equipment, both mechanical and chemical related.
Works with controls experts, pipefitters, chemical vendors and other external resources to coordinate the completion of key strategic projects.
Proactively identifies potential problem areas related to chemical and mechanical processes.
Assists technical manager with scheduling and reporting on an ongoing basis.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering or a related field or the equivalent technical experience with polyurethane foaming
Flexible Slabstock foaming experience a plus
Experience with C02 foam machines a plus
Working knowledge of dispersions a plus
Intermediate knowledge of PC usage required to include using Word, Excel, Microsoft Windows, and data entry operations
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical documents,and machine manuals.
Working knowledge of machine tools, electrical power distribution and plant utilitysystems.
Must have demonstrated experience implementing new products and/or improving slabstock chemical utilization.Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
