The Chemical Laboratory Technician role will work with a team of scientists and engineers at Epic Advanced Materials’ (Epic) facility in Thousand Oaks, CA producing, purifying, and analyzing nanomaterials. Nanomaterials are advanced very small materials used for many different applications in industries such as in batteries (for electric vehicles), composites (for car, marine and aerospace), electronics (data center, PCB and integrated circuit materials), chemicals (coatings, paints, resins, etc.), and additive manufacturing. Epic uses a unique plasma technology enabling production of high-quality, low-impurity boron nitride nanomaterials. Epic is currently building out its facility in Thousand Oaks and scaling up its operations, and is looking for talented individuals to join and work with a great team supporting nanomaterial production and improving its processes.

Daily tasks include but not limited to the following:

- Support nanomaterial purification and QA, working with Ph.D. scientists

- Use wet chemistry and chemical analysis techniques

- Functionalize nanomaterials for different uses

- Keep a lab notebook, collecting and recording key data

- Troubleshoot purification systems & processes

Required skills:

- Experience in chemical laboratories 3 years minimum preferred.

o Bonus if any experience with materials or nanotechnology

- Scientific background with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline

- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing

- Ability to use respirator (and other PPE) and ensure safety in the workplace

- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and stand for extended periods

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
