DRC Heat Transfer, LLC is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented CAD Technician to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating precise technical drawings and models that support our construction, civil, and mechanical projects. Your expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) software will drive project accuracy and efficiency, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams. Duties and Responsibilities
- Create design documentation for new design CAD models
- Customer Quote Support drawings
- Assembly/Inspection drawings
- Weldment drawings
- Sheet metal bending instructions
- CNC program lists
- Develop and maintain part lists and BOMs
- Ensure consistency between CAD models, drawings, and BOM data
- Update documentation to reflect design revisions
- Create machine programs (G-codes, NC-codes, M-codes)
- Participate in Peer Design Reviews with design team and produce final drafts based on meeting notes
- Maintain records of revisions within a PDM system
- Oversee prototype manufacturing
- Address prototype manufacturing questions
- Process ECRs (Engineering Change Requests) and maintain records of all revisions
- Provide Production Team with fixtures and other technical support to aid in product manufacturing
- Produce three-dimensional models of jigs/fixtures
- Make revisions based on feedback from Design or Production team
- Create documentation for standard parts
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Degree in or a related Technical Degree.
- Proven experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, SketchUp, NavisWorks, or SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of civil or mechanical design principles and drafting standards.
- Ability to produce detailed schematics, technical drawings, and construction documents efficiently.
- Familiarity with 2D animation techniques for visual project presentations is a plus.
- Knowledge of construction processes and how CAD models integrate into on-site activities.
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Proven experience with drafting, mechanical engineering and 3D modeling helpful
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Metacam, and other design software required.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of mechanical punch presses, press brakes, welders, and machining processes is a plus.
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
