For our client, we are seeking a Business Development Director Senior (directed Energy) to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space. This role will support revenue growth through customer focus, relationship development, and disciplined commercial execution. You will collaborate with sales, customer, product, and operational partners to identify opportunities, solve problems, and improve outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen market execution, customer relationships, and measurable business results within a Aerospace & Defense environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $152,000 – $223,650 annually

Responsibilities

1. Lead capture strategy for AI-enhanced Laser Weapon Systems
2. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in Huntsville, Albuquerque, and NCR
3. Shape proposals and capability briefings showcasing advantages of Laser Weapon Systems
4. Establish a qualified pipeline aligned with Army modernization priorities
5. Deliver market intelligence and competitor insights on Directed Energy Systems
6. Coordinate with engineering teams to translate customer needs into operational solutions

Qualifications

1. 12-15 years in Business Development; 10+ years in directed energy; 5+ years in defense BD/capture
2. Expert knowledge of Directed Energy Systems and development opportunities
3. Bachelor's degree in business or related field; advanced degree preferred
4. Strong network in the Directed Energy space
5. Proven track record in proposal writing and winning contracts for USSOCOM
6. Experience with PAE Fires and Army/USAF acquisition offices
7. Excellent communication, networking, and negotiation skills
