Billing Accountant | Construction

CRG has partnered with an established Construction company in Charlotte, NC that has been in business for over 30 years. They work on commercial, residential, and industrial projects throughout the Carolinas. They are seeking a Billing Accountant to join their team! This person would be responsible for project set up, running the billing cycle, handling lien releases, managing sales and use taxes, and assisting with the accounting cycle and monthly close processes.

Opportunity: Direct Hire

Compensation: $50,000 - $65,000 DOE

Location: Charlotte, NC

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7:30am-4:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Assist in daily cash receipts – Posting / Reconciling
• Assist in ensuring Accounts Receivable reports are accurately reflected pre / post daily cash positing.
• Assist in ensuring Accounts Receivables are reconciled to general ledger daily / weekly / monthly.
• Assist in ensuring Accounts Payables are reconciled to general ledger daily / weekly / monthly.
• Perform monthly billing cycle – work with project managers to properly prepare AIA documents, lien releases, sales tax reports, second tier lien releases etc.
• Ensure all compliance documents are provided and recorded properly & accurately.
• Assist in project coordinating – change orders / project set ups etc.
• Assist in Month End Close Process
• Bank Reconciliations, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, and Project Reconciliations.
• Assist in Month End Reporting preparation – Soft Closes
• Assist in Quarterly Reporting preparation – Hard Closes
• Assist in Year End Close, Audit, Taxes & Reporting
• Additional assistance to improving processes & procedures.

Qualifications:

• Prior billing experience in a construction environment required.
• Sage 300 experience required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working as an accountant or bookkeeper performing construction accounting functions primarily in the billing cycle with AIA documents etc.
• Knowledgeable in the accounting cycle & monthly close process.
• Proficient in data entry
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Textura/Procore/GC Pay is a plus
