Newtek Bank N.A. is looking to add to its team! We are currently recruiting for a Bank Teller/Customer Service Representative.

Teller Qualifications:

• Excellent customer service, communication, and writing skills
• Strong math skills and attention to detail
• Patience and the ability to remain calm and professional
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• 12 months of experience as a teller or cash-related field preferred
• Computer knowledge
• Good customer relations skills
• Understanding of financial terms, practices, and laws is a plus
• Great team player who works well under pressure

Teller Responsibilities:

• Processing deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and cashing checks. Keeping cash, deposit slips, checks in order
• Printing account balances and histories, ordering checks, issuing cashier's checks/ money orders, cashing savings bonds, domestic & foreign transfers, and safety deposit box transactions
• Ensure cash and checks are genuine, that cash amounts and teller slips agree, and that transactions are accurately entered into the computer system
• Maintain and conduct cash balances in the cash drawer daily by accounting for cash assigned, received, and disbursed
• Demonstrate good risk management decisions, including displaying solid knowledge of guidelines for fraud prevention and robbery
• Accurately close out the teller terminal and remit daily work to the bookkeeping department and branch supervisor
• Build and maintain customer relations by providing high-quality services.
• Cross-train and assist customer service with daily tasks such as assisting with customer account inquiries, answering phone calls, wire transfers, and daily filing
• Verify customers' identities and ensure that system is properly updated within the CIP guidelines
• Recording all customer transactions electronically
• Comply and uphold with current applicable banking laws and regulations, bank procedures, and policies
