About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer with strong experience in PHP and Node.js to join our growing engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power our platform. This role requires a mix of hands-on coding, architectural thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality features and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js (Express/Nest.js) and PHP (Laravel/Symfony) and
2. Build and optimize RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support web and mobile applications.
3. Write efficient, reusable, and testable code with a focus on performance and scalability.
4. Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless end-to-end experiences.
5. Implement and manage integrations with third-party APIs and services.
6. Maintain database schemas and queries (MySQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
7. Ensure application security, data protection, and compliance best practices.
8. Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues across environments.
9. Contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical documentation.

Requirements

1. 3–5+ years of professional backend development experience.
2. Strong expertise in Node.js and its ecosystem (Express, Nest.js, etc.).
3. Proficiency in PHP (Laravel, Symfony, or equivalent framework).
4. Solid understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and microservice design.
5. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
6. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
7. Understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes a plus).
8. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and testing frameworks.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

1. Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS).
2. Background in performance optimization and scaling high-traffic systems.
3. Familiarity with DevOps tools and server administration.
4. Contributions to open-source projects or strong personal portfolio.
