Job Title: AWS Engineer (Contract-to-Hire, Remote)

Location: 100% Remote (U.S. based)

Type: 6-Month Contract to Hire

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled AWS Engineer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience to join our growing cloud infrastructure team. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are passionate about helping application teams modernize and scale in the cloud.

What You’ll Do:

• Support application teams on their cloud journey by automating infrastructure provisioning and offering expert AWS guidance.
• Troubleshoot cloud-related issues quickly and effectively across a wide range of AWS services.
• Contribute to sprint goals by completing stories and resolving support tickets efficiently.
• Continuously learn and share best practices to help improve team productivity and system reliability.

Day One Overview:

• Join IT New Hire onboarding to set up tools and access
• Begin shadowing team members to learn processes, tools, and team structure
• Get familiar with support workflows and infrastructure management tasks

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2+ years of hands-on AWS experience
• Experience deploying and troubleshooting services such as:
• EKS, Lambda, VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, KMS, DynamoDB, RDS, Route 53, S3, Glue, MSK
• Strong command of AWS CLI, scripting, and CloudFormation
• Understanding of observability concepts (monitoring/logging)

Preferred Skills:

• CI/CD pipeline knowledge – GitLab, Terraform
• Background in software development
• Experience working in Agile environments using JIRA and Scrum methodologies

Education:

• Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Preferred: AWS Certifications (optional)

Success Metrics:

• Completion of sprint stories and backlog items
• Timely and effective resolution of support tickets
