As an Associate Technical Designer on our Global Sourcing team, you will be accountable for developing and overseeing a select group of styles from design concept through top of production. You will use tech packs to specify measurements, construction details, size and grading to ensure DXL standards are met consistently across styles, vendors and areas of business

Using your natural attention to detail and knowledge of technical design, you will support DXL's mission by:

• Scheduling fit sessions for the team and ensuring the availability of live models when necessary and preparing garments and paperwork for fittings
• Communicating fit issues and corrective action to vendors/suppliers with Technical Designers guidance while assisting in communication to cross-functional teams and overseas and domestic vendors.
• Organizing and maintaining the sample room for the Technical Design team
• Updating tech packs with changes timely and accurately and ensures vendors' awareness and adherence to change
• Following through on communication with Directors of Sourcing and Technical Design team for specific needs from Merchants
• Providing support and feedback for Quality Assurance, Customer Service and Technical Design teams as requested

We're looking for someone:

• With a Bachelor's Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in fashion design or patternmaking / apparel manufacturing
• That has MS Office experience, including Word and Excel and experience using on-line specification packages and sketching programs such as PLM, PDM, Photoshop, Illustrator
• With knowledge of fabric/yarn construction in woven and knits, sweater construction, and pattern making/grading
