Who we are seeking:

The Associate Portfolio Analyst is responsible for examining credit quality and assessing credit risk of some commercial loan requests, ensuring CEI’s loan portfolio meets its mission and strategic plan goals.

You possess high attention to detail and accuracy.

You are curious, motivated, and a self-starter, able to complete (or attempt to complete) tasks with minimal supervision. You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, and the Microsoft Office Suite in general, and can use or build data to identify trends and opportunities

You bring valuable organizational skills that allow you to manage your time, prioritize, and meet competing deadlines.

You are a great communicator, and you are able to produce written reports as well.


Some of your key responsibilities in this role will be:

Support and occasionally take on the underwriting process and assist with loan modifications and other investment-related underwriting.

Analyze a variety of borrower financial data and prepare a written summary of financial statements.

Support the risk management strategy of the lending department by producing data for reporting and decision-making purposes.

Guide the Annual Review Process for all CEI loans and investments.


Preferred candidates will have:

Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.

Excel proficiency: v-lookups, pivot tables, and spreadsheet analysis.

Effective organizational and communication skills.

Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

Salesforce experience is a plus.


Other details:

This is a full-time non-exempt position, with excellent benefits and generous time off. The posting range is $24-$26 hourly. We work in a hybrid model, two days in the office, and three days at home. This position can be based out of our headquarters in Brunswick, ME, Bangor, Waterville, Farmington, or Ellsworth. This position would require regular travel to Brunswick for team meetings and once a month for our all-staff meeting.
