Responsibilities

• Assist underwriters in evaluating insurance applications and determining coverage eligibility.
• Review and analyze policy documents, applications, and related materials to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Process binders and endorsements accurately and in a timely manner.
• Utilize online rating systems to assess and calculate appropriate coverage premiums.
• Gather information from carriers and brokers to facilitate the underwriting process.
• Communicate with agents, brokers, and clients to gather additional information and clarify underwriting criteria.
• Assist in preparing quotes, endorsements, and policy documentation.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate coverage options.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Collaborate with underwriting team members to achieve department goals.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Holds an active Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance License.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Comfortable navigating insurance company software platforms.
• 1-5+ years of relevant insurance industry experience preferred.
• Previous experience in the insurance industry, preferably in an underwriting support role.
• Above average computer skills with the capacity to master essential software programs.
• Wholesale experience is preferred, but agency and/or carrier experience will also be considered.
