Assistant Controller position for candidate that requires minimal supervision, is a team player, has strong analytical skills, is able to communicate in a professional manner, can manage staff, and is a Florida Certified Public Accountant with at least 5 years of general or tax accounting experience in private industry. Must be able to adapt to new opportunities as we are growing and adding new business units.

The company manages the diverse portfolio of the capital investors which includes residential & commercial construction, installation of roads and infrastructure, building supply retail business, mountain resort, farming & property management. Our headquarters is located in Tallahassee and the Fallschase subdivision is one of our projects. We operate in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina & New Jersey.

This is a full time, in-office/remote hybrid position with flexible hours and benefits. Annual salary starting at $87.6+k.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries
• Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
• Monthly close of financial records
• Track fixed assets
• Insurance and Department of Labor audits
• Oversee Internal Controls and Compliance
• Setup systems and controls for new business units
• Prepare financial reports for management
• Ensure that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and GAAP
• Some travel required
• Staff management
• Other duties and projects as assigned

Education and Job Requirements

• Certified in Florida as a Public Accountant
• 5 years financial accounting & or tax experience in private business or public accounting
• Curious nature; interested in learning
• Flexible and able to change plans to navigate or overcome unanticipated events
• Proficient in Excel and ability to learn new technologies & software
• In office position as well as ability to work remotely
