We are seeking an Assistant Content Editor who displays strong characteristics of AIP Publishing’s cultural principles: Progressive; Researcher-Focused; Experimental; Equitable; Authentic; Action-Oriented; and Collaborative to support all processing and publishing activities of the Content Production department.

The Assistant Content Editor reporting to the Content Development Manager will assist the Content Production team by performing quality control checks on all journal production, books, and Conference Proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Review author/editorial corrections to ensure the corrections are consistent with style guidelines
• Proofread files to ensure accuracy in applying author and Content Editor changes
• Respond to inquiries by authors, vendors, and departmental staff
• Document meeting notes
• Collect data from our content management and other systems and generate reports
   

Requirements:
 

• Bachelor’s degree, in English, Communications, Business Administration required
• 1–2 years’ experience in book, media, or scholarly publishing required
• Familiarity with research publication in physics-related journals a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to take responsibility, assess complex situations, and work on own initiative
• Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work under pressure of deadlines
   

Additional details:

$22 hourly - $24 hourly

Salary within the above posted range is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience.

To be considered candidates must reside within NY, NJ, CT, MD, VA, PA, MA, RI or Washington, DC. This is a remote first plus convening opportunity.
