Applied AI Engineer – Stealth AI Start-Up – Remote (US / Canada)

The Role

We’re looking for an Applied AI Engineer who’s passionate about pushing large language models and agentic systems into production. You’ll help design and deploy intelligent workflows that make developers faster, smarter, and more creative.

You’ll experiment, fine-tune, and ship - working closely with engineering and product teams to deliver cutting-edge AI features to real users.

What You’ll Do

1. Build and refine LLM-powered systems for reasoning, command prediction, and workflow automation.
2. Prototype and iterate intelligent agents that assist with software creation, debugging, and deployment.
3. Develop prompt optimization and fine-tuning pipelines to improve performance and reliability.
4. Design data-driven feedback loops that help the system continuously learn from usage.
5. Work end-to-end: from research and experimentation to scalable deployment.

What We’re Looking For

1. 5+ years of experience applying AI/ML to real-world, user-facing products.
2. Strong foundation in machine learning, NLP, or gen AI - ideally with hands-on LLM experience.
3. Proven software engineering ability - from model prototyping to scalable system design.
4. Creative problem-solver comfortable moving from research to rapid implementation.
5. Degree from a top-tier university (e.g. CMU, MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, etc.); publications in leading NLP or ML conferences (e.g. EMNLP, ACL, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI etc.) are a strong plus.
