SitelogIQ is a rapidly growing energy and facility services company focused on making buildings better. We provide planning, design, and management solutions for organizations that want efficient and sustainable building environments that are healthier and safer for their occupants.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain internal and client-facing building analytics software solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SkyFoundry’s SkySpark software environment, data modeling, and the application of Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) techniques. This role involves enhancing existing applications, building new tools, and supporting innovative projects that drive energy efficiency and smart building technologies. The successful candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including software developers, engineers, and project managers, to deliver impactful, scalable solutions.

The salary range is $80,000 - $120,000. The salary may vary within the range based on factors such as location of the role, and a candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Application Developer Responsibilities

  1. Configure and maintain infrastructure for data analytics, data storage, and application performance.
  2. Manage agile development of applications in collaboration with the engineering team.
  3. Create and maintain technical documentation to support ongoing maintenance and user training.
  4. Design and implement application features based on team and client feedback.
  5. Perform system integration with databases, APIs, IoT devices, and building automation systems (BAS).
  6. Troubleshoot, test, and optimize applications for accuracy, reliability, and performance.
  7. Provide technical support and training for team members and end-users.
  8. Stay current with emerging technologies in energy analytics, building management systems (BMS), and smart building solutions.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Application Developer Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Proficiency in Java and JavaScript; strong knowledge of object-oriented programming.
  3. Willingness to learn and apply Axon and Fantom programming languages specific to the energy efficiency software used by our company (more information at www.fantom.org and www.skyfoundry.com).
  4. Experience with SQL and database management/analysis.
  5. Familiarity with HTML, PHP, and CSS.
  6. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
  7. Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide technical documentation.
  8. Excellent communication skills and proactive, client-centric approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience with SkyFoundry’s SkySpark software, including Axon and Fantom programming languages.
  2. Java GUI application development experience.
  3. Experience in server management (Linux/Windows) and use of proxy servers (e.g., nginx, Apache2).
  4. Experience with Git or other distributed version control systems.
  5. Experience with API development and web server frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Angular).
  6. Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS), HVAC, and energy management concepts.
  7. Knowledge of Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) principles and rule development.
  8. Exposure to machine learning, predictive modeling, or advanced data science techniques.
  9. Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or equivalent).
  10. Experience with Haystack tagging standards and semantic data modeling.
  11. Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, or similar building system protocols.
  12. Previous experience in energy efficiency, facility management, or smart buildings projects.
  13. Desire to work in a collaborative, small-team environment with strong values of teamwork and innovation.
