Job Title: Android Developer (On-Site)

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Android Developer to join our team and help build and maintain proprietary applications for our custom-designed relaxation equipment. These are Android-based units running on rooted devices with direct hardware integration—so this is a hands-on, low-level, and impactful role.

You'll work on both current and next-generation devices—debugging, developing new features, and building brand-new applications for upcoming products. This is an on-site role where you’ll collaborate closely with both software and hardware teams.

What You’ll Do

1. Develop and maintain Android applications for our embedded Android units
2. Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate software with custom electronics
3. Debug existing applications and improve stability/performance
4. Build new applications for future hardware platforms
5. Communicate with hardware via USB from Android apps
6. Support outbound communication from devices to our cloud system (PHP/MySQL) using HTTP and WebSockets

Must-Have Skills

1. Strong experience with Java and the Android SDK
2. Proficient using ADB and comfortable working on rooted Android devices
3. Hands-on experience with USB communication
4. Deep understanding of Android app structure, activity/service lifecycle, and app deployment

Nice to Haves

1. Familiarity with or interest in PHP and MySQL
2. Experience working with HTTP requests and WebSockets for remote data exchange
3. Background in UI/UX design or basic graphics work (e.g., Photoshop, Figma, Illustrator)
4. Familiarity with REST APIs and cloud-connected Android apps
5. Willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies and tools
