Position Overview:

We are seeking a Remote Analytics Engineer to help us modernize and optimize our data infrastructure. This role supports business decisions by transforming raw operational data into usable, insightful metrics that help us better serve first-time trekkers, returning customers, and the llamas themselves. From trek bookings and customer feedback to trail performance and llama load tracking, your work will directly influence how we scale and sustain our adventure-based services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain ELT pipelines to collect and clean data from sources such as reservation systems, inventory logs, animal health records, and customer surveys.
2. Create data models and reporting structures that support trip planning, llama allocation, customer segmentation, and workshop scheduling.
3. Build and manage dashboards to help the team track booking trends, seasonal demand, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.
4. Work closely with operations and customer service teams to identify data-driven opportunities to improve the guest experience and field efficiency.
5. Monitor pipeline performance, ensure data integrity, and proactively troubleshoot any inconsistencies.
6. Document processes, data schemas, and business definitions to ensure continuity and clarity across teams.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. 2+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data modeling.
3. Proficiency in SQL and modern data warehouse tools (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift).
4. Hands-on experience with dbt or similar data transformation tools.
5. Familiarity with business intelligence platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate insights in a clear, actionable way.
7. Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience in outdoor recreation, tourism, or service-oriented industries.
2. Knowledge of Python for light scripting or automation.
3. Passion for the outdoors and an appreciation for sustainable, animal-friendly adventure services.

Compensation and Benefits:

1. Salary range: $85,000 – $105,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
2. Flexible scheduling and a remote-first work culture.

Work Environment:
