Preference to evaluate additional candidates with stronger hands-on experience in the following areas: Autonomous agents, Tool-calling workflows, Multi-agent architectures and patterns, Local or private AI deployments, Advanced reasoning and orchestration beyond prompt engineering, solid understanding of selecting and applying different AI models based on specific use cases, including (but not limited to): Qwen 3.6, GLI, Gemma 4, Qwen Next Coder, GPT-OSS, Llama 4, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, ClawBot, Sonnet 4.6/4.7, Codex 5.4, Gemini Pro, etc. Payment Integrity, Kafka is still mandatory.

Key search: Python, Oracle, Kafka, and Windsurf along with Payment Integrity platforms.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and development of the PISCES HUB platform, a configuration-driven, event-based data and rule-processing ecosystem supporting healthcare payer workflows. This role requires strong expertise in building metadata-driven systems, rule engines, and configurable integration frameworks within a cloud-native architecture. The ideal candidate will also possess solid knowledge of healthcare systems, particularly Payment Integrity and claims processing workflows, and be capable of designing systems that support fraud detection, pre-pay/post-pay validation, and rule-based adjudication enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Leadership Lead end-to-end engineering for the PISCES HUB initiative.
  2. Provide architectural direction and hands-on leadership.
  3. Mentor development teams and enforce engineering best practices.
  4. Ensure scalability, configurability, and maintainability of rule-driven systems.
  5. Collaborate with Product, Payment Integrity SMEs, and Enterprise Architecture teams.

Required Skills & Experience :

  1. 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  2. 3+ years leading engineering teams or owning platform architecture.
  3. Strong proficiency in: Python or Java (both preferred)
  4. Proven experience building configuration-driven systems.
  5. Strong database modeling expertise (SQL & NoSQL).
  6. Experience designing JSON/YAML/XML configuration interpreters.
  7. Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture.
  8. Experience with AWS cloud services (EKS, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB).
  9. Strong grasp of CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitOps.
  10. Strong knowledge of healthcare systems with focus on Payment Integrity.
