Position Description

The position of Dredge Operator will be tasked with performing multiple plant duties safely and efficiently while maintaining a safety-first attitude. This position requires management resources to adhere to all company standards, policies, and procedures and comply with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA, TCEQ, etc.

Duties & Responsibilities
 

  • Operated and maintained dredging equipment to extract aggregates from water bodies safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize productivity.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Conduct routine safety checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or issues promptly.
  • Perform routine maintenance on dredging equipment to ensure longevity and optimal functionality.
  • Report and address any mechanical issues promptly, coordinating with the maintenance team as needed.
  • Navigate and position the dredge equipment accurately to maximize extraction efficiency.
  • Collaborate with surveyors and other team members to achieve precise dredging results.

  • Ensure the proper handling and transportation of extracted materials from the dredge to designated storage areas.
  • Collaborate with loading and transport teams to facilitate the smooth transfer of materials.
  • Maintain effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other relevant personnel.
  • Report daily progress, challenges, and accomplishments to the management team.

     

Minimum Requirements

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred. Prior experience safely operating heavy mobile equipment or the aggregates industry is preferred. General maintenance abilities are required. Proficient knowledge of MSHA/OSHA safety requirements.

Other Requirements
 

  • Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
  • This position will be considered for night shift roles if they become available. Evenings and night shifts may be expected.
  • Ability to interpret and follow navigational charts and coordinates.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and address equipment issues.
