Starting Salary Range: Adjunct base rate is $1,208-$1,344 per workload hour in all ILL classes and depending on degree and teaching experience and in accordance with the adjunct pay table listed in the Master Agreement.


Position Summary: The Animation Department is seeking an adjunct professor to teach on-campus, 15-week, face-to-face sections of 2D and 3D animation classes as assigned and capacity allows. There is the possibility that an occasional online or HYB section could be assigned. This is a professional training program using industry software with the goal of making our graduates ready to be competitive and job ready in the animation and digital media profession.


The successful applicant for this job may teach Integrated Lecture Lab courses with the equivalent of 5.1 workload hours, and/or serve as a substitute professor. This person will perform other duties expected of adjunct faculty, to include collaborating and working successfully with other full-time and adjunct faculty in the Animation department and other duties as assigned.


JCCC is located in Overland Park, KS, the second largest city in the state of Kansas and part of the greater Kansas City Metro. The Kansas City Metro is known for its museums, restaurants, and music and art scenes. JCCC is similarly dedicated to creating and maintaining a rich cultural community, with an award-winning contemporary art museum and center for the performing arts located on campus.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Associate of Applied Sciences in 2D and 3D Animation with 3-5 years of direct industry experience in Animation is minimum requirement
  2. Demonstrated Experience with industry specific software including Maya, Toon Boon Harmony, Z-Brush and the Adobe Creative Suite, etc. applications.
  3. Ability to work within a college curriculum and schedule, showing an ability to follow syllabus guidelines and level appropriate assignments for the program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelors or Masters degree in 2D / 3D Animation
  2. 3 or more years of direct industry experience
  3. Previous college teaching experience is preferred.
