We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Acquisition Librarian to provide technical and professional support to a federal agency. As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in managing subscriptions, acquiring new materials, and facilitating timely access to vital resources. This position would be 10 hours a week with a flexible schedule and conducted remotely.

The position would entail:
 

• Literature Access: Provide access to scientific literature within three business days of request, utilizing interlibrary loan or a la carte purchase options as appropriate
• Subscription Management: Oversee subscriptions to periodicals, professional journals, databases, and other resources to ensure seamless access for staff
• Resource Management: Continuously review and make recommendations for the removal or reduction of items from the library collection. Facilitate the acquisition of books, monographs, and reference materials as approved by laboratory management
• Research Services: Assist in locating materials and gathering information on various topics of interest, including emerging industry practices
• Documentation and Reporting: Document and report any identified duplications or redundancies in resources, along with recommendations for improvement
   

Requirements
 

• Master's degree in Library Science or equivalent
• Proven experience in acquisition and management of library resources
• Proficiency in cataloging, classification, and serials control
• Strong knowledge of interlibrary loans and document delivery processes
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
