Job Description:

We are currently seeking an Accounting Specialist who will be responsible for accounts payable as well as handling general accounting duties as needed.

 

Primary Duties include:

  • Assist with inventory reconciliation through deferred receiving process.
  • Perform reconciliation of credit cards.
  • Prepare and analyze company AP aging schedules on a weekly basis.
  • Reconcile accounts payable in the accounting/ERP system to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due.
  • Generate reports detailing accounts payable status.
  • Understand expense accounts and cost centers.
  • Understand compliance issues around accounts payable processes.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
  • Perform daily financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
  • Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
  • Posting cash receipts and performing bank reconciliations.
  • Other work-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 or more years of experience in a business setting, working in an Accounts payable role
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and multitask
  • Ability to think critically to solve complex problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using various ERP systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
